Annual Congregational Meeting on October 29 after Worship

The Annual Congregational Meeting at the end of worship (11am) on Oct. 29 is for the purpose of 1) electing elders to serve on Session for the next three years, 2) approving transfer of the parking lot to the Irene Center for management, and 3) approving changes to the Pastor's Terms of Call for 2024. Please make every effort to attend as this is an important part of church membership!

Faith Focus on October 25: The Mind-Body Connection with Sanctuary on Main

This Wednesday at Faith Focus, representatives from Sanctuary on Main will lead us in exploring "The Mind-Body Connection" with light movement and guided meditation. As always, dinner begins at 5:00 in Fellowship Hall followed by the presentation and children's activities around 5:45. Join us as we dig deeper into the everyday implications of our faith and put those beliefs into action through this grant-funded worship program!

Sewing 101 Workshop: Learn How to Use that Dusty Machine! REGISTER HERE.  You thought you wanted to sew, but when you started setting up your machine, you just walked away. I feel you! Join Ann Waddle as we start from scratch. First step will be plugging in the machine. And we will walk away with a finished drawstring bag! Please bring: 1. Sewing machine. If you do not have a sewing machine, there will be 3 available.  2. Instruction book if you still have it. Most are available online & you may bring it on your phone or tablet. 3. power cord 4. foot pedal 5. any accessories you have (extra presser feet, tool kit, oil, etc) 6. thread-I use polyester for general sewing, cotton for quilting-bring what you have 7. bobbin - empty bobbins are preferred as we will practice putting thread on them 8. needles (2) 80/12. Literary Roundtable on November 16: Choice and Consequences, Time Travel

On November 16 at 6 pm in the Chapel, our hosts will lead a discussion about choice and consequences and time travel in "This Time Tomorrow" and "Dead Men's Path." Books: This Time Tomorrow (Emma Straub) and "Dead Men's Path" (Chinua Achebe, Girls at War and Other Stories ) Hosts: Joanna Grisham is an instructor in the Department of Languages & Literature at APSU. Joey holds an MFA in creative writing from Georgia College. She was named a finalist for the 2021-2022 Very Short Fiction Contest at the Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival and a finalist for the 2021 Ember Chasm Review Flash Fiction Contest. Her work has appeared in Gleam , The Emerson Review , On the Run , The Write Launch , Construction Literary Magazine , and other places. Help Us Move Furniture After Worship on Oct. 15

We need volunteers to help move furniture right after worship on Oct. 15. We have had a room painted and cleaned and want to get the desks and tables set up in preparation of hosting Presbytery in November. This Sunday, please come to the third floor near the office if you can help us move furniture; thank you!

We will host two Open Houses in October.  Learning Center  Open House Thursday, Oct. 19  2:30-4:00 pm  for Grades 9-12 4:00-6:00 pm for Grades K-8 Preschool Open House Tuesday, Oct. 24  4:00-6:00 pm
