Scholastic Book Fair for the Learning Center and Preschool

Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. And--as always--every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.  Here's what you need to know about the big event, which will take place in the  3rd Floor Chapel: April 21st 11-12 April 22nd-24th 8:30-9:30, 12:00-12:30, and 2:00-3:00 April 25th 12:00    Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet--your child's digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child's eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.  If you can't make it to the Fair, then shop at our school's Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school. Youth Sunday 2024: Make a Joyful Noise!

Dear youth and families, This year's Youth Sunday theme is "Make a "Joyful Noise!" Many of our youth have musical talents, and we would love to showcase them on this special day. If your child plays an instrument, please have them bring it to our practice on 4/14.  Musical students  may choose to play a piece of music they have already prepared, or we can plan one together. There are also many opportunities for youth to read, sing, and lead worship on Youth Sunday. We will assign parts at practice. FPC Youth in Action Dates 4/14 following Second Sunday lunch: Youth Group Meeting ( 2 pm)  4/28:  Youth Group (4 – 6 pm) 5/4:  Youth Sunday rehearsal (9 am –1 2 pm) 5/5: Youth Sunday

NaCoMe Family Camp Program this Summer

NaCoMe is  trying to raise awareness for their Family Camp program. The Family Camp is an intergenerational camp experience run to help families enjoy the outdoors, gain new experiences, and grow closer to God together. The dates this year are June 28th-30th. Learning Center Students Starting Seeds with the Green Team

The Green Team will teach Learning Center students how to start seeds on April 17 at 12:30 p.m. with the goal to eventually plant the seedlings in the Teaching Garden. The project aims to spark love for creation and equip young people with the knowledge to grow food. Interested in helping the Green Team with other projects?? Contact Hannah Cruse/church office.

The FPC Youth Group is requesting candy donations to fill Easter eggs as well as pre-filled eggs for our annual Easter Egg hunt on March 30th. Please drop them off in the office or contact Emily Vaughn. Thank you!

Children and their families are invited out the Easter Egg Hunt on March 30. Games start at 2:30 followed by the hunt at 3:00 in Glenwood Park.

Spring Work Trip for Youth at NaCoMe

Youth are invited on the Spring Work Trip on March 16-17. We will depart the AOC on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and return on Sunday by 6:00 p.m. The form below and $40 fee is due by March 10 to Emily Vaughn. We will work as a team to perform various tasks around camp, preparing for summer camp season. Of course, we will also have time to have fun and fellowship as well!  What to bring: work clothes gloves toiletries sleep gear for bunk beds outdoor shoes and medications games to play (optional) snack money (optional) Please Note: Cell phones do not work at NaCoMe. In case of emergency, you may reach the Dining Hall at 931-729-9969.

Spring Break Coming Up March 4-8

The Learning Center, Seasons, Preschool, Faith Focus, and choir will take off during Spring Break, March 4-8. Please check with your scheduled groups to see if they are still meeting that week.

"Wandering Heart" Lenten Sunday School Series for PreK-5th Grade

The preK-5th grade classes will begin a Lenten learning journey called "Wandering Heart." Each week’s lessons will focus on Scripture and somatic activities to connect the mind, body and spirit. Kids will go out after the Children's Moment during 10 a.m. worship services and come back after the sermon. 

Education Programs in Need of Donations this Spring

FPC's schools are in need of a few items this spring. The Preschool copier/printer needs immediate replacing, and the Learning Center is requesting a set (~20-25) of reusable writing tablets for building math and writing skills.  The Education Fund would welcome donations in the form or cash, check, or Amazon gift cards. When making a donation, please put Education in the memo line. Thank you for promoting, encouraging and supporting our school programs at the church!

Chi Alpha and DWELL Doing Church Chores on February 27

Chi Alpha wants to help FPC by doing little chores around the property on Tuesday, Feb. 27 starting at 7:00 pm. Ann Waddle has agreed to buy pizza as a thank you. DWELL young adults are invited to come out, have pizza, introduce themselves to the students, and help with chores. This will be a great opportunity to connect more with the young adults on APSU campus. 

DWELL Young Adults Lunch and Customs House Museum Tour

Instead of "The Trek" on Feb. 18, DWELL will take lunch at Blackhorse Pub around 11:30 and then tour the Customs House Museum at 1:00 pm. They are currently exhibiting "From Here to There," how things move on land, sea, and air demonstrated through 10 hands-on interactive stations. $12/adult and $5/child. Kids and friends welcome!
