Bring Joy to a Child this Christmas through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

First Presbyterian Church will again participate in the annual Salvation Army Christmas   Tree   Angel   Program. The   Angel   Tree   will be located in the hallway on the third floor of the Education Building. Please select an   angel   from the   tree , shop for the requested item, and return the gift(s) to the Friendship Classroom by December 7.  Gifts should be new, unwrapped, and have the   angel   tag affixed to them for identification purposes.  For more information, please contact Millie Armstrong & Jennifer Griffey. Liberty Elementary Seeking Volunteers for Thanksgiving Feast

Liberty Elementary has asked First Presbyterian if any of us could help during their  school-wide Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 16 th   from 10:30-1:00. Tables will be set up in the gym for families to eat lunch with their children. They need volunteers to guide families to seats and possibly wipe tables off between visitors. Anyone that would like to volunteer for the entire time or just a few minutes within the time frame would be most appreciated.  If this is something that you think you could help with, let Melinda Riggins know at  Melinda.Riggins@cmcss.net   and the church office at fpcclarksville@gmail.com. Cozy Fast Knitted Mittens Workshops on Dec. 2 and 9

In two classes taught by Sara Coelho-Robinson, learn to knit an easy pattern for cozy and fast knitted mittens! Start the first mitten together in Part 1 on Dec. 2 from 1:30 to 4:30. This class is ideal for adventurous beginners and those familiar with the most common stitches. In Part 2 on Dec. 9, finish the first mitten together and learn the skills to complete the second mitten at home. Homemade mittens make amazing Christmas gifts!  Register for  Part 1 on Dec. 2  and  Part 2 on Dec. 9 .  Each workshop costs only $30 per person. Located at Makers' Corner, 215 Foster St. Materials students are required to get: Needles: US11 circular needles w/ 24" to 32" cable (knitters choice). Suggested brands are Knit Picks, Knitpro Smartsix, ChiaoGoo, or Clover. Wood or Metal is ok. Yarn: Super Bulky yarn, preferably wool, 66 yards aprox. ArtsConnect presents Cinema Night on Thursday, November 30 from 6 pm to 9. This month, we are showing "Frequency," a 1999 film starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. A rare atmospheric phenomenon allows a New York City firefighter to communicate with his son 30 years in the future via HAM radio. The son uses this opportunity to warn the father of his impending death in a warehouse fire, and manages to save his life. However, what he does not realize is that changing history has triggered a new set of tragic events, including the murder of his mother. The two men must now work together, 30 years apart, to find the murderer before he strikes so that they can change history--again.

Spiritfest 2023 Coming to Downtown Clarksville on December 2nd!

On Saturday, December 2nd , Spiritfest 2023 will be held in downtown Clarksville  from 2:00 to 4:30 pm.  Come to the corner of Third St. and Main St. for holiday festivities!   At the Downtown Commons ( 215 Legion Street ), there will be live music, Santa Claus, kids' activities, and food trucks.  At 4:30 , Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden will light the Christmas Tree. Warm up inside Trinity’s Parish Hall (317 Franklin St.) with cookies and Hot Chocolate.  Visit the First Presbyterian Chapel (213 Main St.) for an opportunity to dress up and be a part of the live nativity. Dress up clothes and animals including a camel, donkey, and goats provided! Inside the First Presbyterian Fellowship Hall, there will be art, non-profit booths, music, and coffee.  Following Spiritfest around 5 pm, the Clarksville Lighted Christmas Parade will make its way through Downtown Clarksville.  Don't miss this spectacular afternoon to kick off the Christmas season! 

Light a Candle for a Loved One on All Saints Sunday

If you would like to light a candle in honor of a loved one for All Saints Sunday, come 10-15 mins early to 10 am worship this Sunday. The congregation is invited to light candles upon entry into the sanctuary in memory of those whom you have loved in this life, who now live eternally with the Lord.

Join Advent Choir and Sing for Lessons and Carols!

Singers are invited to join "Advent Choir" to sing for Lessons and Carols on Dec. 10. We practice at 7:15 in the choir room each Wednesday (except Nov. 22). Look forward to anthems with harp, cello, and flute. Let Hannah Cruse know if interested!

FPC to Host Presbytery of Middle TN Quarterly Meeting

FPC will host the Presbytery of Middle TN for their next meeting on Thursday, Nov. 9. Congregants are invited to the opening worship service held in the sanctuary at 10 a.m.

Green Team Taking on Preschool Playground Cleanup

The Preschool playground between FPC and the neighboring building is in need of repair. The Green Team will remove mulch and seed the area on Saturday, Nov. 4. Let Hannah Cruse or Ann Waddle know if you'd like to assist.
