Oboist Hannah Cruse and harpist Liana Alpino will present an enchanting concert of Debussy music at FPC on April 21 at 1:00 pm. Bring whatever you need to get comfy (a pillow, blanket) and be lulled into a springtime dream. Pieces arranged by Bert Lucarelli and Susan Jolles as heard on the 1988 album. Hannah Cruse, residing in Charlotte, TN, is an accomplished musician with a profound dedication to sacred music. Holding a Master's degree in Sacred Music and a Bachelor's in Music, both from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, Hannah's expertise spans piano, organ, and oboe performance as well as choir direction. Currently serving as the Director of Music and Creative Arts at First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, she adeptly provides the music programming and coordinates various worship opportunities. As an oboist, she was a finalist in the International Double Reed Society Young Artist Competition, concerto competition winner and performer with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra, and concerto performer with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Beyond work, Hannah is passionate about her vegetable gardening, yoga practice, social justice and environmental efforts, and marriage to husband Matt.
Award-winning performer and composer Liana Alpino is one of Music City’s premier harpists. Equally at home playing in Nashville’s legendary live music scene, entertaining hundreds of guests at an upscale event, or performing on stage with one of the region’s symphony orchestras, she has carved a niche combining her classical training with her passion for creating new music. Alpino’s versatility makes her an in-demand-artist in Nashville’s vibrant music culture. She has performed with Keith and Kristyn Getty, Kathy Mattea, ABBA’s original band members, and Roy “Futureman” Wooten. She’s also a regular with a number of professional orchestras, including the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Kentucky Bowling Green. In 2021, Alpino was a soloist with the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra after winning the adult division of its concerto competition. Alpino has also shared her musical talents on screen, performing for Lifetime TV’s hit reality show Married at First Sight, and Nashville’s Channel 4 News program profiled her innovative neighborhood driveway concert series in 2020.
