Learning the Basics with an Everyday Washcloth

During this class you will go through the basics of this craft, focusing on two techniques: the Knit Stitch and the I-cord edge. By working on a simple washcloth, you will be able to perfect both techniques and have a useful finished object, an F.O. in the knitter's lingo, in no time!

Saturday, August 12, 2-4 pm

Focus on the Essentials with the Elevated Washcloth

In this more comprehensive class, you will learn how to read a pattern and increase your knitting knowledge by adding five more stitches to your tool belt! After having perfected your Knit Stitch, you will be able to make a beautiful and elegant washcloth. This project will teach you the skills you need to move on to bigger and more time intensive projects, so that you can begin your own knitting journey creating your own bespoke knitwear. You've got this!

Instructor Bio

Sara Coelho-Robinson is originally from Portugal, and now makes her home in Nashville, TN. She learned how to knit when she first moved to the US, in the summer of 2019 and hasn't stopped since. An enthusiastic knitter, in 2021 Sara published her first designs and started her own Youtube podcast, Day-to-Day Knits, on all things knitting. As a teacher, Sara focuses on empowering her students and giving them the tools and support needed to become independent and confident knitters. When she is not knitting, you can find her at work at an architecture firm in downtown Nashville or working on her flower and vegetable gardens. Even when she is knitting, she can be spotted strolling with her dog, Effie, or lounging on the couch with her husband Joseph while watching cozy British TV shows.
