FPC Yoga, 10 Years Running, Is Free to All

First Pres has been offering free yoga classes for at least 10 years now. Currently the Tuesday evening one hour class starts at 5:00 pm with Kris Foust leading. It meets in Fellowship Hall. Mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps are available, or folks can bring their own. Because these are shared, some like to bring a towel to use with the bolsters.

The Thursday morning one hour class normally meets in the AOC gym at 8:30am. However, it is being held in Fellowship Hall while the AOC is in use as a Cooling Center. Folks need to bring their own mats. The other supplies are not used. However, we do make use of the light weights available.

Neither of the leaders is formally certified. Both classes are beginner to moderate level. It’s good for someone new to a class let the leader know whether they have practiced yoga before. Attendees are always encouraged to start at their own level, knowing that with regular practice they will see their own progress. That’s the incentive that keeps us returning. It is perfectly acceptable to adapt or ignore any pose that is beyond one’s ability. All levels of flexibility are welcome! Wear clothing that allows moving and stretching but is not too loose.

Both classes must respond to other activities within the church. Locations can change, sometimes on short notice. If you want to start attending, it is wise to text Kris Foust for any questions or location changes.
