Prayers & Praises
Please be in prayer this week for:
David Kanervo, Bob and Roxanne Lueck, Leo Adames, Lee Persinger (niece of Larry and Charene Watson), Tom Presler, William Jennings (father of Perry and Dianne York's son-in-law, Patrick and Cayce Stephens Jennings), and Dennis Moore.
Please continue to pray for:
Don Atkins, Florence Bailey, Don Beck, Jay and Diane Bowland, Sara Brooks, Melanie Cobb, Bessie Costanza, Vickie Duncan, Abigail Henson, Ruby Jean McLeod, Lew Metts, and Arch Shuler, the FPC Bicentennial and Capital Campaigns, the FPC Christian Ed Program, as well as those in LaGonave, Haiti, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
We give praise for:
- Baptism of the twins, Amelia Blake and Rowan William O’Daniel--great grandchildren of Ken and Sherrie Giles.
- Thanks for Bol Puk, who attended VBS several times, from the Sudanese Church. He is now a freshman at the University of Sewanee, doing well academically and playing football.
- Thanks for the staff of Seasons! Marcie O’Neal is director and doing a wonderful job of getting the program started! And Justine Kaneris will be joining the staff after fall break as Marcie’s assistant. They will still welcome volunteers as they have art, cooking, yoga, and other classes on Tuesdays, and field trips walking downtown on Thursdays!
- The Mburu family from Kenya sends thanks for all the furniture and kitchen wares and linens our congregation provided! They have settled in and Lucas is studying at Vanderbilt, Grace is at Cameron College Prep Middle School, and Timothy is at Whitsitt STEM School. Eunice is staying busy adapting to American cooking and laundry!
- Thankful for our community partner of Bois Brulee in Haiti, hosting teacher training as school starts again there. School was delayed until late September because of the political unrest, but has started now. These teachers were learning to teach geometry!
