The Irene Center Successfully Houses 2+ Families with Children!

The Irene Center is excited to announce the first assistance provided through Operation Homework! This project is a collaboration with the City of Clarksville and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to help families have a safe, stable home. Two families will be moving into brand-new apartments at Madison Way this week with another family approved for residence!  Mr. Go's daughter will attend East Montgomery in the fall. He has been working 2 jobs, but when his sister in the army was transferred, they were left homeless without money to pay the application fees and deposits.  The Gi family's 3 teenagers will attend Richview/CHS this fall. Another working, single parent who has not been able to save up for the deposits.  The Tr family's 2 middle schoolers will attend Richview this fall. They were living with mother-in-law/grandma but when the parents divorced, they had to move out. They will be moving in mid-June. Madison Way is a new complex near Sango Wa...

Help make the Young Adult Summer Party possible by providing childcare for the parents. You will need to be background checked (the church will cover that cost) if you haven't been already. Childcare Extended on Sunday Mornings through June 8

Childcare has been extended to 9:00 a.m. through June 8 so that parents can attend choir practice.  (Childcare workers will not be able to stay for The Trek during Memorial Day weekend.)

Welcome Neely Holloway as Business Administrator for Events and Programs

We are pleased to welcome Neely Holloway to the FPC staff as Business Administrator for Events and Programs. Neely is a Clarksville native and 2016 Graduate from Austin Peay State University. After completing her undergraduate degree she joined the staff team of Chi Alpha Campus Ministry at APSU where she worked for nine years to help develop a discipleship program made up of 200+ college students and reaching thousands for the gospel. During that time she continued on with her wedding photography business, travel, and remodeling her home. In July of 2024 she met her now-husband, Justus, and the two were married in an intimate ceremony with family April 7, 2025. She has a heart for local ministry and world missions and is eager to work alongside the staff of FPC.

A Farewell and Thank You to Hannah Cruse

Our beloved FPC Director of Music and Creative Arts, Hannah Cruse, will be departing from her staff role with us this summer to follow the call of God to explore new horizons and greater opportunities. Since joining FPC in 2020 during the challenging days of COVID, Hannah has served our church with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love. She has not only graced our worship with her musical gifts as organist and choir director but has also expanded her ministry in countless ways. From revitalizing our young adult ministry to spearheading the successful grant application for our Faith Focus program, and from coordinating our newsletter and social media to helping form our Green Team and contributing to the work of the Hospitality Committee, Hannah's dedication has been truly remarkable. Kindergarten and 1st Grade Readiness Camp at FPC this Summer!

Get ready for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Readiness Camp at FPC from July 28 through July 31! Readiness Camp is specifically structured to ease the transition between preschool and kindergarten or maintain kindergarten skills for 1st grade. Camp is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. The cost is $100 per child. To register, please email reports.alc@gmail.com or pick up a form at the church office. 

Art Camp this Summer at FPC for K-6 Students!

Does your K-6 child love arts and crafts? They will have a blast at FPC's Art Summer Camp from July 21 to 25! They will learn how to make different types of art, including a portrait, with various materials from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $150 per participant. Science Camp for K-6 Kids at FPC this Summer!

Does your K-6 child love animals, plants, space, and crafts? Sign them up for the Science Summer Camp at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville from July 14 through 18! Cost is $150. Plant Giveaway this Sunday, May 18!

As the Green Team has been weeding the Teaching Garden, they have found and potted up extra seedlings, such as cosmos, parsley, or "mystery" tomatoes. Please come grab as many as you want free of charge for your home garden after worship on May 18. Mary and Hannah be stationed outside of Fellowship Hall! 

Liberty Elementary Needs Volunteers for Behavior Celebration

Volunteers are needed to help with the Liberty Elementary School Behavior Celebration on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Guide elementary students on inflatables, make snow cones, or face paint! Help the kids enjoy their reward for good behavior this semester. Please let the front office or Sara Little know if you can support.

For our penultimate Faith Focus program of the season, we are excited to bring you  Mayor   Pitts  who will speak about following Jesus in a context where voices are constantly raised and conflict is the order of the day. Enjoy a meal at 5:30 and program from 6 to 7 in Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, May 14. Childcare available. 

South Sudan Conflict Info Session with Pastor David Paduil in Nashville

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2 p.m., Trinity Presbyterian Church ( 3201 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN  37215 ) will be hosting an information session on the situation in South Sudan. David Paduil, pastor of the Sudanese American Nuer Presbyterian Church, will speak as well as some of his elders.  This is open to anyone.  Please enter the building at the doors closest to the mailbox, which is at the top of the hill and to the left, as you turn in from Sharondale Drive.

Project Transformation Seeks Volunteers to Read with Children this Summer

The Missions Committee of FPC supports Project Transformation project here in Clarksville. The mission of Project Transformation is to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships. Our church is responsible for providing 10 volunteers daily on Monday July 14th through Thursday July 17th. Volunteers report to Forest St. United Methodist Church from 9:15 to 12:15 to read or listen to children reading. You can do single days or all 4 days. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Margaret Adames (931-980-1646) about the dates you can serve. A background check will be conducted through the church. 

Urgent Need for Fire Watch Volunteers

Fire watch is a protective measure required by the state when a fire alarm or sprinkler system is impaired. Until all repairs can be made, we are in need of volunteers to surveil the building whenever in use to watch for signs of fire. We are grateful for those who have already stepped up to ensure that events continue as usual. If you can help, please email Sara in the office. 

Faith Focus with Virginia Cruse: Closing the Gap Between What We Believe and What We Experience

Virginia Cruse (Hannah's mother) will be joining us at Faith Focus on May 7 to help us investigate how we might move from intellectual belief to the pursuit of an inner experience with God using tools such as the enneagram personality model and spiritual practices. Eat, learn, and fellowship with us from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall! Childcare provided.
