Youth Group Lunch and Games on September 15

The Youth Group is gearing up to meet for Lunch and Games from 12 to 1:30 p.m. following 11:15 a.m. Sunday School on September 15. All students grades 4-12 are invited to join us for lunch, games and fellowship! 

Cumberland Winds Coming in Hot with the Jazz Project!

The Cumberland Winds invite you to their first Jazz Project concert of the season on Saturday, September 21! The music will start at 7:30 in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. It is free to the public! Grab your seat early as space tends to fill up. 

Open Studio Is Back in Business for September 14

Crafters, painters, artists of all kinds... Come hang out together at Open Studio on September 14 from 3 to 4 pm at Makers' Corner (215 Foster St.)! It's a fun time for socialization, getting feedback on your work, and knocking out projects.

Open Mic Night Returns to Sanctuary on Main September 14

Sanctuary on Main is hosting our ArtsConnect "Open Mic Night" every 2nd Saturday of the month from 7 to 9 pm. The cafe will be open for you to purchase drinks, sandwiches, and baked goods. See you on September 14!

New After-Worship Sunday School Classes for PreK-12 Grade

Every Sunday starting on Sept. 15th, we will offer PK-12 Sunday School classes right after worship until around 11:50 a.m. The "Feasting on the Word" curriculum will guide us to connect Scripture to our daily lives and families. Ms. Emily will be in the hallway by the Library to help everyone find their correct classrooms. Parents are welcome to join The Trek Discussion Group or enjoy a cup of coffee in Fellowship Hall. Nursery is available until noon except on 2nd Sundays. 

Butterfly Release Outing for Young Adults and Families

Just 25 minutes from FPC, the War Memorial Walking Trail in Oak Grove, KY will be releasing over 2000 butterflies on Saturday, September 7. The DWELL group for young adults and families plans to make it an outing. Arrive at 2 pm for food trucks, face painting and other engaging activities, an interactive butterfly house, and the butterfly release at 4 pm. Admission and parking is free. Let Hannah Cruse know you're coming.

Literary Roundtable in September: "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath

Literary Roundtable is one month from today...so start reading! Come and discuss "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath with APSU Prof. Joey Grisham and Pastor Greg on September 22. We will meet in the Library at 5:00. 

Faith and Fellowship Group to Meet at the Basham's Home in August

Rally Day 2024: Jump into Fall Programming at FPC!

Join us for Rally Day on September 8! During lunch after worship, we will celebrate the beginning of all our exciting programs available to various age and interest groups at FPC this year. Learn about the programs you can look forward to below: MINISTRIES Wednesday Night Faith Focus Contact: Hannah Cruse or Dianne York " Faith Focus " started in 2023 with a Lilly Endowment grant through the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. We are continuing it this year without the grant as a congregational boots-on-the-ground laboratory for connecting our worship and work. We will explore together what it means to put our faith into action. Come to Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00 pm for dinner, presentation, group discussion, and hands-on activities. Kicking Off Wednesday Night Faith Focus Program on September 11!

We are excited to re-kickoff the Faith Focus Wednesday night program this year on September 11! Start time has moved to 5:30 to give folks more time to arrive after work. Nursery and children's activities offered. While the Calvin Institue grant has run its course, we intend to continue with the same delicious dinners, profound presentations, and joyful fellowship. The Steering Committee is planning some fun activities for the fall, so let’s gear up to put our faith into action together!

The next Game Night for all ages is at Paul Cox's home on Monday, September 9. Bring your favorite game or just show up from 7 to 8:30 pm!

Second Sunday Lunch after Worship on September 8

Join us after worship around 11:15 am on September 8 for Second Sunday Lunch in Fellowship Hall. These monthly meals are always a great time to meet new people or catch up with old friends! Childcare ends after worship so that families can eat together.

All members of the congregation are invited to the Town Hall meeting on Sunday, September 8, 9:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. This is a great time to ask questions and learn about what's going on in the life of the church. Cof fee and snacks provided.

The Trek Discussion Group for Young Adults after Worship!

Those in their 20's through 40's are invited to The Trek Discussion Group after worship each Sunday (unless otherwise notified). We meet around 11:15 am in Fellowship until noon to share our ups and downs, talk about faith questions, and encourage each other in our spiritual journeys. Childcare provided.

Make Music this Fall...Choirs Starting Soon!

Choir rehearsals will start soon on Sept. 4. Handbells from 6:30-7:30 (those attending Faith Focus can arrive at 7:00) and choir from 7:30-8:30 in the 2nd floor rooms. Presbyterian Women's Groups to Start on September 10

Join one of our Presbyterian Women circles starting on September 10th as we begin our new study for the year,   Let Justice Roll Down: God's Call to Care for Neighbors and All Creation  by Patricia K. Tull. We will explore God's call to care for our neighbors and for creation while taking a look at the environment and climate change and how we can address these concerns. We have two circles to choose from.  Both meet on the 2 nd  Tuesday of the month.  Martha Circle meets at 12:30, and Night Circle meets at 7:00 in the library.  For questions, please contact Rhonda Banasiak.
