Needing Elders to Bring Home Communion to Shut-Ins

We are seeking elders who would like to take Home Communion to our shut-ins. These members of our church greatly appreciate the visit and the opportunity to participate in this sacrament. We participate in Home Communion quarterly (February, May, August, and November) and send out teams of two. Volunteers do not have to be current active elders and will be trained on what to do before participating. If enough sign up, the commitment would only be once or twice a year. Please contact Rhonda Banasiak if interested.

Art Walk in FPC Chapel on July 11

Image
Come see the next exhibit in the Chapel on Art Walk, July 11, from 5 to 8 pm. Artist will be announced soon! Artist Statement: My name is Karley Sugg and I am a high school senior here in Clarksville. This exhibit will feature my AP 2-D Art and Design portfolio that I created over the 2023-2024 school year. The collection features 10 pieces that showcase my journey while growing up through the eyes of my younger self in order to capture my strongest emotions. These moments, however big or small, have dramatically shaped who I am today. Through this, I hope to create a connection between the art and the viewer’s own journey to provide hope and understanding of how precious one’s life is.

Summer Sermon Series Called "Daily Holiness: Ordinary Practices for an Extraordinary Life"

Image
Join us for a special sermon series during Greg's sabbatical! We will be using the book   Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life  by Tish Harrison Warren. This study is all about slowing down and paying attention to those activities we do every day, whether it is making your bed, brushing your teeth, or drinking your favorite beverage. As Warren points out, her book will help us connect the moments of an ordinary day with the extraordinary pattern of classical Christian worship, meaning that worship and prayer are and should be a part of our ordinary lives, no matter what we are doing.
